RECRUITING A CONSULTANT TO CONDUCT A MARKET ASSESSMENT FOR VIABLE BUSINESS/VOACTIONAL SKILLS INCLUDING LAND SCAPE ANALYSIS ON SKILL GAPS FOR WOMEN GRADUATES AND VILLAGE AGENTS AND COOPERATIVES.

INTRODUCTION

Women for Women Rwanda (WfW-Rwanda) is a non-for-profit national NGO legally established in December 2020. The organization recently transitioned from Women for Women International (WfWI) that had been operating in Rwanda since 1997. Its mission seeks to support women and girls in Rwanda to break the vicious circle of poverty and social exclusion, by enabling them to become socially and economically capable to lead themselves and their community to better health, education, and social conditions. Since its establishment as a local organization, Women for Women Rwanda has been implementing different projects aiming at promoting women’s economic empowerment and soon wants to implement a new grant that aims at enhancing women’s economic independence while creating a ripple effect among poor women in seven districts (Nyaruguru, Muhanga, Gasabo, Kicukiro, Bugesera, Rwamagana and Kayonza). 

Women for Women Rwanda is looking for a consultancy service provider (an experienced individual or a consulting firm) to conduct a market assessment and landscape analysis among women graduates before the start of the new project that aims at enhancing women economic independence through business development, vocational skills as well as financial inclusion interventions. 

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY

The objectives of the consultancy:

• Conduct a market assessment for viable businesses for women to allow the new project adequately support women micro-entrepreneurs align their businesses with the current market dynamics.
• Carry out land scape analysis on skill gaps for women who graduated from WfW one-year program, village agents as well as women cooperatives. 

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

1. Inception report that includes methodology and work plan
2. A market assessment and landscape analysis draft report
3. A comprehensive final report after inputs from Women for Women
4. Validation workshop for presenting and discussing the draft final report 

CONSULTANT(S) PROFILE

The team or consultant firm base skills and education must encompass:

• At least a master’s degree in a management related discipline,
• At least 5 years of experience of making market assessments
• Business Development skills
• A strong background in market assessment and land scape analysis including skills gap in vocational skills training and cooperatives in local and international Non-Governmental Organizations.
• Good data analysis and writing skills

DURATION OF CONSULTANCY

The assignment is expected to be completed within 14 days (two weeks) from the contract signature
