JOB DETAILS:

Job Description
• Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate ultrasound techniques;
• Performing a range of sonographic examinations on patients to produce high quality images;
• Observing and maintaining care contact for patients throughout their waiting time, examination and post examination stay in the department to ensure their safety and comfort;
• Assisting in more complex sonographic examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff;
• Providing support and reassurance to patients, preparing patient for exam by explaining procedure, taking into account their physical and psychological needs;
• Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with Guidelines / radiological practices and patient confidentiality;
• Provide oral or written summary of technical findings to requesting physicians for use in medical diagnosis in timely manner, and search for radiologist’s support when appropriate, especially for emergent cases.
• Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others;
• Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported;
• Supervise and train students rotating in the Department;
• Participate in quality assurance / accreditation process of the Hospital;
• Attend and actively participate in clinical departmental meetings;
• Perform other related duties as required.
