EAGI Ltd seeks to recruit competent personnel for;
Job Title: Payables Accountant
Reporting to: Chief Accountant
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and file all requisitions by the user departments and ensuring that the
materials or services requested for were budgeted and eligible for business purposes
- Maintain procurement-related records as per SAP system, including contracts, LPO and change orders
- Daily posting of supplier‘s invoices in the system.
- Monthly reconciliation of all suppliers balances whose amount exceeds one million
Rwandan francs and the reconciliation approved by the Finance Manager
- Adhere to regulations guiding Finance & accounting practices - Avoid volume of the penalty paid by the company for violation of the Rwanda tax law (corporate tax, VAT,withholding taxes etc)
- Prepare output VAT & 15% WHT schedules and submit the same to Chief account for his review not later than 5th of every month
- Ensure monthly tax returns are uploaded to the RRA website on time and payments due are made on time
- Ensure any payment made to the non-register person or a company with Rwanda Tax administration authority is charged with 15% WHT and remit the same to RRA before 15th of the next month
- Prepare input VAT schedule from the system on 5th of every month and submit the
same to the Chief Accountant for his review.
- Supervise the company vehicle movements and ensure they are being used for
business purpose
- Liaise with the EAGI customs clearing agents and ensure imported goods are cleared as quickly as practicable
- Strict adherence to the Company procurement manual and payment guidelines
- Any other Task as may be assigned by the supervisor
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA).
- A minimum of 3 years‘ relevant working experience
- Applicant must be willing to work in Nyagatare — Rutaraka, Eastern Province.
