Purpose:
Under the Fleet & Logistics Manager's direct supervision, The Logistics Officer coordinates the implementation of logistical functions to support Green Plains Ltd. .

Main Responsibilities:
• Provide planning support and advice to the management for all logistics related issues in a transparent, accountable, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure that local market surveys are regularly carried out to ensure a full knowledge of local items' availability and price.
• Actively engage with freight forwarding agencies, freight handling/clearance agents, and local Customs to ensure that cargo is managed at all points of the supply chain and that all tracking and reporting deadlines are met.
• Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible
• Ensuring that valid bills are received for all payments and that all payments are supported with needed documents.
• Coordinate and track shipments and arrange appropriate transportation, freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing, and scheduling.
• Develop and update the list of contacts and database of reliable suppliers, transporters, forwarders, and other related companies.
• Assist in preparing agreements & contracts with suppliers/clients.
• Manage warehouse, storage management, including maintaining inventory, ordering shipping materials, operating necessary equipment, and managing warehouse personnel
• Following up purchase orders progress & stock transactions.
• Registering and oversee the fixed assets and keep the list updated.
• Schedule and follow up on servicing of vehicles.
• Maintain a well-designed filing system for all logistical activities.
• Monthly reporting to the Logistics Manager on all logistical issues to ensure proper and efficient management of funds and assets.
• Perform any other activities as required

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• University Degree in Business Administration, Transport Management, Logistics Supply Chain, or other related fields.
• Evidence of practical experience in logistics management within the field of supply chain management (Tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, etc.), fleet management, and asset management.
• Proven record of experience in the management of logistics with reputable company/organization.
• Experience in preparing timely, complete, and accurate reports.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an analytic approach • Strong interpersonal, management, and leadership skills
• Ability to integrate and work well within multi-ethnic and multicultural teams
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirement)
