Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is the implementing agency of the Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Government of Japan, and implements projects of Technical Cooperation (Technical Cooperation Projects) as well as Financial Cooperation (Loan, Grant assistance) and other activities of capacity development trainings in many countries in the World. It has offices in 58 countries worldwide and is now strengthening its activities in Africa. JICA Rwanda Office was established in August 2005, and is commenced development projects in Rwanda.

JICA is now seeking an officer to be in charge of Economic Infrastructure Development (Energy, Transport) of JICA Rwanda Office. The person is expected to perform other tasks including multiple administrative ones as well. JICA Rwanda Office is located at Kacyiru, Kigali, besides the South African Embassy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect and share information related to Economic Infrastructure Development (Energy, Transport)Aid-Coordination with analysis
  
• Develop partner relationship including relevant institutions of Government of Rwanda
  
• Coordinate and act as a focal point for Economic Infrastructure
• Development (Energy, Transport)and other related issues within the office
  
• Support project formulation and implementation for JICA related interventions
  
• Other works will be decided by Chief Representative based on his/her experiences.
  

Terms of Service

The position is on contract basis that will initially run from January 2019. Based on satisfactory performance, the contract shall be extended for a further period.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in development studies and/or other related fields. Master’s degree is preferable.
  
• Excellent communication skills and capable of maintaining very good interpersonal relationships.
  
• Excellent command of English and Kinyarwanda. French is an asset
  
• Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office
  
• Capable of handling multiple tasks
  
• Working experience for Infrastructure /Public Sector and/or project management
  
• Good self-organizational ability
  
• Initiative and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
  
• Experience in working for an International Organisation will be an advantage
