Call For Concept Notes For Regional Innovation Collaboration Projects In Eastern Africa icipe/Biolnnovate Africa is pleased to announce grant funding of up to one (1) million USS (dollars) per project for a period of three years. The funding is to support scientists from universities, research institutes, and government agencies to work jointly with their counterparts in the private sector to co-develop innovative biological based goods and services or product delivery systems, and pilot new technologies with good prospects for business and the market.
BackgroundBioinnovate Africa is a regional science and innovation-driven initiative that is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe), Nairobi, Kenya. The initiative supports scientists in eastern Africa to link biologically based research ideas, inventions, and technologies to business and the market. Countries that are participating in the initiative include Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda

Grant Funding
Each project will be funded up to US$ 1,000,000 (one million only) for a maximum period of three years. Each project team shall comprise of at least three (3) and not more than five (5) organisations from at least three (3) of the Biolnnovate Africa participating countries. Each project partner shall receive a minimum of US$ 200,000 (two hundred thousand only)
