Survey on Waste Management in Rwanda by JICA Rwanda Office

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Rwanda Office JICA Rwanda is looking for a consultancy firm to conduct a survey on waste management in Rwanda.

Terms of Reference:

Under the direct supervision of Senior Representative and Program Advisor JICA Rwanda Office, the Consultant performs the following functions:

(1) To collect and organize the institutional framework for waste management.

(2) To collect and organize policy, strategy, and regulation for waste management.

(3) To collect and organize interventions of development and implementing partners. (4) To collect, analyze and organize the current state of waste management system.

(5) To collect and organize a long list of competitors and case study on the waste management companies and institutions.

(6) To collect and analyze the existing technologies and solutions available in Rwanda.

(7) To collect and analyze the challenges and opportunities in waste management sector in Rwanda.

(8) Hold an online survey result debriefing session.

(9) Prepare a survey report and join the meetings.

Conditions of the Service Agreement:

The successful company will sign a service agreement with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Rwanda Office. General conditions of the contract will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven track record and professional experience of more than 3 years in conducting the same kind of surveys as well as report making at least 3 years preferably.

The consultancy firm should have a specialist with a master's degree with 5 years' experience or bachelor's Degree with 7 years' experience at least, in water and environmental engineering, water and sanitation, hygiene and environmental engineering, public health or related field

Proven experience in waste management in Rwanda of 5 years and strong network with stakeholders in waste management in Rwanda in order to collect data and information as well as do a case study in an efficient and effective way.

Proven and good understanding of waste management supply chain.

The consultant firm shall deploy the appropriate personnel to ensure the quality of this survey and to carry it out as scheduled.
