The Role
The software engineer will work within the engineering team to write API’s that is consumed by our apps, partners, and front-end. The positions primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, supporting the maintenance of current APIs, building new APIs, and researching and incorporating 3rd party API’s into Havanao‘s backend architecture.

The ideal candidate will be a very quick learner, have obsessive attention to detail, thoroughness, and creativity in testing. They also must be deadline driven, organized and understand how people view and understand content on the front-end.

What we're looking for:

• Laravel 5 Experience
  
• Comfortable writing PHP 7 code and familiarity of OOP concepts and TDD.
  
• Comfortable writing SQL queries (MySQL or similar)
  
• Comfortable consuming external APIs.
  
• Working knowledge of gif.
  
• Familiarity with scheduled tasks, cron jobs.
  
• Comfortable navigating around a command line.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment where requirements may change quickly

Bonus:

• Experience with Linux, Ubuntu.
  
• Experience with Scaling
  
• Experience with Redis
  
• Experience with Queue’s (SQS, Beanstalkd)
