RECRUITING THE CONSULTANT FOR CONDUCTING A COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING OF FARMERS ON VALUE ADDITION FOR CHILI AND PINEAPPLE PRODUCE: AGRO-PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES (PROCESSING, PACKAGING, BRANDING, CERTIFICATION, DISTRIBUTION) AND SUPPLY MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND CONSUMABLES IN RELATION TO THE VALUE ADDITION DURING THE TRAINING AND AFTER, IN GASABO, BUGESERA, RWAMAGANA AND KAYONZA DISTRICTS.

AEE Rwanda, in partnership with Tearfund, is implementing the “Catalyzing Market Prospects for Horticulture Smallholder Farmers and Small and Medium Enterprise in Rwanda ''project, which is funded by the European Union through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) with technical support of the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB). The project aims to develop horticulture value chains that supply safe, high-quality products to local, regional, and international markets, and increase the wealth creation of 30,000 smallholder farmers in four districts namely, Gasabo in the City of Kigali, Bugesera, Rwamagana and Kayonza in the Eastern Province. The project targets to improve production and market accessibility across selected fruit and vegetable value chains which are chili, pineapple, onions, French beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet pepper and African eggplant.

Conducting capacity building of selected farmers on value addition and agro-processing technologies is the foundation to establishing chili and pineapple value addition processing that can reduce the post-harvest losses previously registered by the project beneficiaries and raised in the comprehensive feasibility study previously conducted. With the aim of developing horticulture value chains that supply safe and high-quality products to local, regional and international markets, the project plans to facilitate smallholder beneficiary farmers (project participants) add value to and process their chili and pineapple produce through the comprehensive training that will be provided by a competent consultant. The detailed Terms of Reference are found in the tender document which will be availed upon presentation of the payment slip of a non-refundable 10,000 RWF deposited on AEE-Rwanda account number 100000653181 RWF in Bank of Kigali. Well bound and sealed bids presented in two copies (original and copy) should be submitted to AEE-Rwanda Head Office at Gishushu (opposite Gasabo District Office) not later than 04th June 2024 at 3:00pm local time. Late bids will be rejected. Public bids opening session will be held at AEE-Rwanda Head Office the same day at 3:30 pm.

Bids must include Cover letter, Financial proposal and certificates of administrative documents (RDB certificate, VAT certificate, Tax Clearance, Degrees of Specialists/Technical staff in the domain), proof of EBM Usage, Performance letters/ Letters of successful completion of similar works from three recognized companies/Organizations.
