Description

The Program Manager, Health will lead the coordination, planning, and execution of AI-driven health use cases within the Hubs portfolio. This role ensures alignment with Rwanda's health priorities and digital health policies while maintaining strong collaboration with public institutions, implementing partners, and regulatory bodies. The Program Manager will oversee deployment, monitoring, and scale-up of AI health solutions to ensure that all initiatives meet the highest standards of ethics, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation and stakeholder engagement across AI health use cases to ensure alignment with Rwanda's health priorities and digital health policies.
  • Translate public health and frontline requirements into actionable technical briefs for partner organizations, product teams, and technical leads.
  • Oversee planning, deployment, compliance, monitoring, and scaling of assigned AI health solutions, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, data privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain regular reporting on project deliverables, health outcomes, adoption rates, and lessons learned for senior leadership and national stakeholders.
  • Ensure interoperability of AI solutions with existing health systems, data platforms, and national digital health infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with government ministries, regulators, and health agencies to ensure compliance with legal, safety, and technical standards.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, cross-sector collaboration, and problem-solving across all workstreams to promote continuous learning and improvement.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Master's degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in program or project management in health, digital innovation, or health systems strengthening.
  • Technical understanding: Familiarity with AI applications in healthcare, including predictive analytics, clinical decision support, and digital health systems.
  • Health policy expertise: Understanding of Rwanda's health system, data governance frameworks, and public health priorities.
  • Stakeholder management: Proven ability to engage and coordinate among government agencies, donors, private sector actors, and implementing partners.
  • Compliance and ethics: Strong knowledge of health data privacy, patient safety standards, and responsible AI practices.
  • Leadership and communication: Exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders toward common goals.
