JOB DETAILS:
Gemslake Trading FZE is seeking an accountable and experienced Project Engineer for a Project in Rwanda to manage all engineering and technical disciplines involved in our factory construction project in Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Responsibilities:
• Provide technical direction to design, engineering, and production teams throughout all project stages.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Interact daily with clients to understand and interpret their needs and requirements, and represent them in the field.
• Perform overall quality control of the work (including budget, schedule, plans, and personnel performance) and regularly report on project status.
• Assign responsibilities and mentor project team members.
• Collaborate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Requirements and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer in factory establishment projects or similar projects in Rwanda or East African countries.
• Expertise in conducting design reviews, supervising personnel, estimating labor, establishing schedules, creating contingency plans, and maintaining budgets.
• Proficient in design and visualization software such as AutoCAD or other engineering software.
• Advanced skills in MS Office.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
• Ability to work on multiple discipline projects.
• Strong project management and supervision skills.
• Excellent decision-making and leadership abilities.
• Current engineer license.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering or a relevant field.
• Professional understanding and communication skills in English.
