JOB DETAILS:
. Organize and supervise blood components production laboratory activities
2. Ensure separation of whole blood into blood components
3. Ensure preparation of pediatrics blood units
4. Ensure blood components are labeled prior
5. Ensure quality control of blood components is performed following established procedures,
6. Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration of equipments used as specified in procedures
7. Ensure quarantine and discard of all non-conforming blood components.
8. Ensure the cold chain is maintained and continuously monitored
9. Ensure proper use of blood computerized system
10. Ensure implementation of quality system in his/her routine activities
11. Ensure safety in the Laboratory
12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors.
13. Ensure the documentation of all records related to quality assurance.
14. Report to the Director of unit.
In collaboration with Immuno-Hematology and serology Specialists:

- Ensures proper storage of Blood and Blood products.
- Ensures that all non-conforming Blood products are quarantined.
- Ensures that all validated Blood units are labeled prior to distribution.

In collaboration with Blood donor mobilization team:

- Shares inventory status for Blood components.
- Shares information and investigates non-conformances related to Blood donation.
- Shares abnormal findings in Blood collected.

In Collaboration with QA/Accreditation Specialist:
- Elaborate documents needed to ensure proper implementation quality system
- Report on quality indicators regularly
- Ensures inspection of incoming supplies

In collaboration with Laboratory Operations Specialist:
- Ensures Inspection and constant availability of critical supplies
- Shares inventory status for Blood components.

N.B: Having a training in Blood banking or Basic training in quality concepts is an advantage.
