Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations
Description

The Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager will work with African Wildlife Foundation (AWF)’s Corporate and Foundation Relations team - playing a key role in identifying, cultivating, and securing new business partners among the global donor community to raise funds and enhance AWF’s visibility in support of our mission to conserve Africa’s wildlife and wild lands. Working directly with the Senior Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Manager will support department fundraising objectives focused solely on the cultivation of new business.
Remote applicants are strongly encouraged to apply if they meet the criteria. Successful candidates who are located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area are encouraged to work out of the AWF’s Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities
• Leads development of content that details opportunities for corporations to support AWF via sponsorships, cause-marketing partnerships, project-specific support, in-kind contributions, and other high-yield partnerships aligned with AWF’s corporate strategy
• Identifies, solicits and secures sponsorships for AWF’s events and programs
• Cultivates, solicits and stewards new partners by identifying and creating a portfolio of new corporate and foundation prospects with the potential to give $100k or more
• Develops partnership agreements and monitors same to ensure adherence
• Liaises with program staff as needed to obtain information on AWF programs for the development of proposals and donor reports
• Works to promote and foster a culture of teamwork, cooperation, and respect within the Corporate and Foundation Relations team

Job requirement
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate or foundation relations roles, sales, philanthropy, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven track record of securing sponsorships for events and programs
• Superior written and verbal communications skills
• Successful track record of securing new business accounts valued at $100K or more
• Experience managing partnerships with multinational corporations
• Excellent networking skills
• Experience in strategy development and providing strategic direction to corporate or foundation donors
• Demonstrated understanding of the Corporate Social Responsibility and cause-related marketing world and related fundraising practices
• Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration
• Ability to work independently and develop account cultivation strategies to achieve goals
• Enjoys creativity and learning new ways of doing things to remain up to date on industry trends
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative environment while prioritizing and managing multiple deadlines
• Experience working with donor databases; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
• Knowledge of the international development donor community
• Willingness to travel 30% of the time for donor visits, program visits, and events
• Candidates with current or previous experience in NGOs preferred
• Keen interest or experience in supporting Africa’s wildlife, land, and people preferred, but not required
