Joyful Preschool & Kindergarten bases its teaching philosophy on Rwandan education curriculum and on Christian values according to the word of God to improve the physical, social emotional and intellectual developments of all our kids.
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Joyful Preschool & Kindergarten Lead Teacher
DEPARTMENT: Education of World Mission Frontier
REPORTS TO: Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Lead Teacher will oversee and ensure that all rules and regulations of teaching are implemented well. The person must a sensitive and mature induvial who is able to relate well with children, staffs, and parents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervising and implementing for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school.
• Report on enrollment status monthly to Director.
• Gearing the program to the needs of the individual style and pace of learning.
• Oversee day-to-day education operations.
• Being responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance and learning environment of the classroom.
• Promote continuing education.
• Review and make annual recommendations for which classes to offer and curriculum updates
• Ensure the preschool provides a high-quality care and education program
• Considering the individual child in relationship to his/her cultural and socioeconomic background.
• Treating each child with dignity and respect.
•  Implementing methods for defectively utilizing the services of classroom assistants.
• Assist and/or acknowledge the annual budget, and provide monthly financial reports
•  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• BA from an accredited college or university, with courses in Early Childhood Education
•  At least 2years experience in early childhood education and/or curriculum planning.
•  Positive managerial, organizational, and administrative skills
• Able to propose projects, discuss with appropriate personnel and implement them.
• Basic knowledge and experience of Windows-based programs, such as Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc) prepares a positive and an effective class environment that supports learning.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, guardians, colleagues, teacher’s assistants, and community.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to assess a situation and act quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to problem solve in a timely fashion.
• Ability/willingness to mentor others as well as to learn from others.
• Being a Christian is more advantages.
• Both English and French speaker
