Introduction

Mashariki African Film Festival MAAFF is a Rwandan – based NGO that aims to establish cinema as both a language and a culture. MAAFF has organized an annual cultural festival under the same name for 10 years, focused on bringing African films to African audiences through a week of screenings, capacity-building workshops, and masterclasses for filmmakers.

The Mashariki African Film Festival (MAAFF) is proud to announce a 14-day filmmaking workshop before the festival date (25^th of November to 01^st of December 2023), which will be offered by international film experts from the US, Canada, Belgium, Germany, and India. MAAFF's goal is to strengthen and foster a future for film and to cultivate young talent and cinema enthusiasts as well as content creators.

The workshop will be held in English, and participation will be limited, so please apply as early as possible if you wish to attend this workshop. Attendees will be expected to meet their own costs for travel, but all the workshop-related costs will be met by the organizers. The registration fee is $90 USD.

• Participating students must be 18 years of age or above (beginners)
• Planned project presentation 1 page
