JOB DETAILS:
The Africa Circular Economy Network (ACEN) is part of the project Circular Food Systems for Rwanda (CIRF) which supports SMEs in the agri-food value chain by including circularity in their business model. We do this by providing technical assistance to the SMEs.
As part of the programme, we are looking for consultants or organizations who can support the selected SMEs. We are looking for consultants that could support this project in areas, such as:
• Training on compost making & certification
• Set up and production of a biogas system
• Sustainable water use
• Provide training and advice to SMEs on how to incorporate circular principles at the farm level
• Provide training on how to make briquettes from crop residues such as coffee husks
• Potential training in the reduction of post-harvest loss with farmers
• Coffee expert in circularity
• Other circularity opportunities for SMEs in the agri-food value chain.

Eligibility criteria to apply
1. Required: Are involved in providing business advice to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Rwanda/East Africa
2. Required: Operate as a company, freelance or non-profit organisation in Rwanda/East Africa that can support SMEs
3. Required: Hold current and proper registration certificates of incorporation or license to operate in Rwanda or East African countries (this means that organizations outside Rwanda are able to apply). Tip: in case you are not registered, work together with other organizations or consultants to meet this criteria.
4. Preferred: Have a team of advisors who are qualified to provide business advice to SMEs. Tip; work together with other consultants or people in your network)
5. Required: Can provide evidence of having the technical knowledge/experience to address the specific circularity need of the SME
6. Preferred: Able to demonstrate that you encourage the development of women, young and other vulnerable people in your operations

The ideal profile of a TAP will have:
• Hands-on experience working with the target business models, value chains, and waste streams
• Deep technical knowledge of circular business models and best practices in the agri-food sector
• A successful track record working with both start-ups and growth-stage SMEs.
