Job Description
GiRiNZU is a young company that designs and builds houses across its urban villages for new generations. Its first project is in Gahanga, south of Kigali, where GiRiNZU is building a first village of around 65 residential houses (mainly individual houses and small collective residences).

The company's objective is to double its production every year, and to reach an annual production of approximately 300 homes by 2024, including a significant proportion of affordable housing. The company is young, dynamic and all employees share values of work and collaboration, respect for people and nature which are fundamental.

To achieve these objectives, the company wishes to rethink the design of the houses to be built, by integrating in particular the architectural specificities of Rwanda and more broadly that of the habitat of the subtropical zones. She also wants to improve the interior of the houses, so that they meet the needs of the families who will live there for at least two generations. Finally, the  company wishes to highlight materials from the region, and in particular brick, in order to maximize the environmental and economic impact of the project on this region. In this context, the company is recruiting an experienced architect, capable of designing the plans for these new houses and integrating them into the project. The architect will also be responsible for translating customer requests and will therefore be required to animate the construction project and make the link with operations.

In connection with the Managing Director of the company, the architect will be responsible for designing several types of masonry houses for real estate programs (approximately 100 houses ), and will then prepare the building permit relating to the construction of these dwellings as well as the program marketing. The architect works directly for the Managing Director who is the main sponsor of the project. He presents the different designs and the different options under study as well as the results that have been achieved. The position is likely to evolve with the project.

As part of his duties, the architect may also be called upon to manage related subjects, but which are important for the development of the company.

Requirements
• Architect's degree (Master's level) with additional training or specialization in town planning;
• 5 years of professional experience in the construction sector in world-renowned companies. Experience on the African continent would be a plus.
• Commercial experience in the development of real estate programs. A business school diploma (Master's level) would be a plus.
• An excellent knowledge of the world of construction and European and Rwandan standards

Technical Skills required for the job:
• Mastery of European architectural standards and codes and in particular basic technical and regulatory subjects (ERP, Fire, Accessibility, etc.),
• Architectural sensitivity to construction in subtropical areas,
• Mastery of the principles relating to the setting up of real estate transactions,
• Mastery of drawing tools (AutoCad and REVIT)
• Mastery of office tools such as Excel and InDesign.

Soft Skills required for the job:
• Ability to speak and write in English and French,
• Ability to work independently on assigned topics and to be a force to proposal on technical issues.
• Ability to present to a very high-level assembly the results of the work carried out.
• Seriousness and reliability.
