JOB DETAILS:
INDATWA Cooperative has been founded on the 15th of March 2017. It achieved legal status as well in the same year. Around 1,500 farmers from Mugina, Rugalika and Nyamiyaga Sectors of Kamonyi District are farming in Ruboroga marshland. Its office is located in Rugalika Sector. It has been trying to make an effort for the cooperative income generation with major crops as maize and bean. Currently, Good Neighbors International is supporting their agriculture activities with a project funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) .

Job Responsibilities
• To conduct agribusiness research to provide the needed support for INDATWA Cooperative with market information and analysis on donors, competitor/partner organizations, funding patterns and trends, and other information relevant to new business decisions and strategic positioning
• To provide technical support in the establishment of a marketing database to keep farmers, consumers and buyers informed of the prevailing market prices of various agro-industrial products and commodities
• To research-related concepts in seeds companies’ development such as factors of production; costs of production; quality control/market standards; opportunity cost; gross margin and profit analysis; return on investment; credit/budgeting; and risk
• To assist a cooperative manager in monitoring all Agriculture income-generating related activities
• To provide the technical assistance for market information to the cooperative market committee
• To provide technical assistance for feasibility studies, project proposals and other fundraising and outreach materials
• To support communication for cooperative with others in business-oriented programs
• To support in the preparation and implementation for all cooperative promotion activities such exhibitions and district open days

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in agricultural science with honors in rural development and agribusiness, agricultural economics or agribusiness.
• At least 2 years of experience successfully promoting increased production and marketing of agriculture products
• At least 2 years of agricultural extension experience and coordination of development programs with some experience in farmer cooperatives agricultural credit
• Having experience with value chains related to agricultural products/horticultural products
• Ideally, candidates will have had experience facilitating: Agribusiness, Marketing, Agro-processing, Post-harvest handling, Enterprise Development, Business Development Services, Business Linkages
